This book is a collection of catalog works published in 1955 at the exhibition "The Family of Man" held by MoMA in New York to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its opening. In the 1950s after World War II, it was planned by Edward Steichen, a prominent American photographer and director of MoMA's photography department, to appeal for peace and reconciliation across races. The exhibition environment, which consists of 273 photographers from 68 countries and a total of 503 photographs, was created with the cooperation of architect Paul Rudolph and others, and was expressed like a photo essay, and many stories were spun. .. As a result, this exhibition, which has received a great deal of attention, has since traveled to 38 countries and has become a historic event with a total number of visitors of over 9 million. This catalog is still being reprinted, but this book is the first edition, and comes with the catalog and leaflet at the time of the event in Japan, as well as a separate volume and a Japanese manual (however, the Japanese manual is written).
