"The Absence of Two (With Print)", a collection of works by Japanese photographer Ryoto Yoshida. Born in Miyazaki Prefecture in 1980, after working in Thailand and teaching at an elementary school, with the support of his wife, he became a photographer from the age of 30. He traveled abroad to India and Bangladesh, and was nominated for the "Paris Photo – Aperture First Photo Book Award" for "Brick Yard", which was shot through interviews with physical workers, and attracted attention. And this work is like a family album with the motif of my grandmother and cousin, and was originally published in a private version. It was featured extensively at the Kyoto International Photo Festival (2017), and this is a popular version published the following year by Seigensha in Kyoto. Love born from the daily life of a young man over 20 years old who was a nurse taking care of his grandmother over 80 years old. And suddenly the young man cuts off his fate, witnesses the reality found in the body, and the grandmother loses the meaning of living. It is a masterpiece that spells a drama full of family love while being fierce. (The paper used for the text of the original handmade photobook (biotope paper) comes with an original print that has the same print as the handmade plate)
