A collection of works by Shigeichi Nagano (1925-2019), one of Japan's leading photographers, "A Strange Perspective in Tokyo". Under Yonosuke Natori, he was in charge of taking photographs of about 60 books as a staff member of "Iwanami Photo Bunko" and became a freelancer. .. After establishing himself as a photojournalist, he moved to the commercial world of movies and TV commercials, and his work was less often announced. However, in the 1980s, he began to wander around the city of Tokyo again with his camera in his hand, shooting serious and humorous patterns unique to urban space. The series was published as a collection of works "Distant Gaze" (1992), and won the 11th Ina Nobuo Award. This book is a masterpiece of Nagano, and is a collection of large-sized works that exceed 40 cm in height. In 2002, edited by Sokyusha and Michitaka Ota, a revised and expanded version of "Distant Gaze" was published by Waizu Shuppan, but this is the first edition.
