A collection of essays by Daido Moriyama, one of Japan's leading photographers, "To Another Country". After dropping out of Kogei High School, he has been working as an assistant to a commercial designer in Osaka since the mid-1950s. Moriyama headed for photography in 1960 when he entered the studio of Takeji Iwamiya, a leading figure in the Kansai photography world, and then moved to Tokyo to become an assistant to Eikoh Hosoe. He has been active as a photographer since the latter half of the 1960s, met Takuma Nakahira and participated in "Provoke", and since the 1970s he has left masterpiece photo books such as "Hunter" and "Goodbye Photographs". This book was published in 2008 and is a collection of essays that Moriyama has published in various media and his own photobooks in the past. Photographs are included between the essays, and the text written for this book is also included. The text, which was woven at the request of "other than photography" (from the postscript), was recorded from the 1980s to the 2000s, from miscellaneous notes such as diaries to writings like novels reminiscent of the past. I am drawn to Moriyama's literary talent again. Obi missing.
