A collection of works by British female ceramicist Lucie Rie. She is a master of British ceramics, on a par with the great Bernard Leach and her one and only best friend Hans Coper, who influenced her. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1902, she moved to the UK before the war. Her feminine delicacy and minimalist style, which is still relevant today, such as her dignified form, subtle and nuanced material, and decoration that creates a natural effect, are still very popular in Japan. Lucie Rie's works have been introduced in Japan at ceramics exhibitions since the 1960s, but the person who worked hard to convey the charm of Rie in Japan was designer Issey Miyake. He fell in love with Rie's works when he happened to see them in a book in the early 1980s, and in 1989 he planned and supervised the ``Lucie Rie Exhibition'', and this book is a reprint of the exhibition catalog from that time. Lee's first exhibition in Japan was designed by Yusaku Kamekura, photographed by Yasuhiro Ishimoto, and the exhibition layout by Tadao Ando. This book includes works from his time in Vienna to his time in London. First edition, first printing. Comes with obi.
