Photobook "The may sun (Unopened)" by American photographer Terri Weifenbach (1957-). After studying painting at the University of Maryland, Weifenbach began making photographs in the 1970s and has been producing works with natural landscapes as a motif. It is characterized by its vibrant colors like paintings and its pinpoint focus, and the photo books published so far have been highly evaluated. The exhibition "Gift" with Rinko Kawauchi held at IMA gallery in 2014 is also new to my memory. This book was published in conjunction with the first large-scale solo exhibition at museums in Japan and overseas held at IZU PHOTO MUSEUM in Shizuoka in 2017. In "The may sun," which was produced by staying at IZU PHOTO MUSEUM for a long time, plants and flowers were projected with a pretty and delicate image, and in the second half, when I met the pressed flower book "Pressed Flowers from the Holy Land" in the 19th century. One of her masterpieces produced in Japan, "The Politics of Flowers", which is a monochrome copy of pressed flowers, is included. Limited to 1000 copies. New unopened.
