A collection of works by Koji Onaka, one of Japan's leading photographers, "Umimachi (Second Edition)". In the latter half of the 1980s, Koji Onaka launched his own gallery "Kaido" with photographer Susumu Fujita in a corner facing the Ome Kaido in Nishi-Shinjuku before the age of 30. Without knowing where to go, he continued to publish landscape works that captured the original landscape of Japan in black and white, including his hometown of Kyushu, and summarized the series in the first book, Onaka's masterpiece " Tall Awadachi Grass ”(1991). After that, the second work "Distant Town / Distance" was serialized with Asahi Camera and compiled as a photo book in 1996. Since then, Onaka has created many masterpieces such as "slow boat" (2003), but this is a book composed of plates taken when he traveled to the Sanriku region in the early 1990s. Many of the landscapes recorded here were lost due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, but Onaka was in the same year of the earthquake in order to preserve the original landscape and its beauty for posterity and to dedicate it to this town and the people of this town. This book has been published in. Second edition.
