"Speed of Life" is a collection of works by Peter Huger (1934-1987), an American photographer who represents the 20th century. After being abandoned by his father when he was a child and raised by his grandparents on a rural farm, he moved to New York and lived with his mother and father-in-law, but he broke up with his family due to abuse. After that, he studied commercial photography and earned a certain amount of income, but in the latter half of the 1960s he left studio work and concentrated on his own creative activities without considering financial sacrifices. In the late 1970s, he met the painter David Wojnalovich and was supposed to be a lifelong partner, but AIDS was discovered in 1987. He died 10 months later (later Wojnalovich participated in AIDS activities early on as a pioneer of homosexuality). This book contains the sad and loving masterpieces of such a fuser. It was published in the wake of a large retrospective exhibition that started in Barcelona, followed by The Hague in the Netherlands, and then in New York and California.
