A collection of works by Japanese photographer Tsutomu Yamagata, "Ten Disciples (Second Edition)". Graduated from Keio University Faculty of Law, Department of Law. While spending time as an office worker until his mid-thirties, he then quits and turns into a photographer. After studying at a workshop hosted by photographer Satoru Watanabe, in 2012, he released a collection of portraits "Kokushi Musou" taken in the Ueno Shinobazu area, and this work is the second work. At the timing of the birth of his own child, his father's cancer was discovered, and at the same time that doctors began treatment with a Western medical approach, Yamagata sought a cure with an Oriental medical approach. Then you will come across Tamagawa Onsen in Akita. The rocks in this spa have a high radium content, and like radiation therapy, many cancer patients visit and soak in the area like a bedrock bath. Yamagata, who was interested in the mysterious sight of life and death, went to the area after that, visited about 30 times in 5 years, and repeated shooting. A wonderful book that depicts the floating aspect of reality and unreality in black and white. This book is a revised new edition and hardcover edition announced the year after the first edition was published in 2015.
