This book is a collection of works "Photographs as PHOTO Art" published by Uzaburo Toyama, an art critic and poet. In particular, it describes the artistic photography theory of avant-garde photography that makes full use of photograms and photomontages that have become popular in Japan since 1930. Up to page 24 of the first half, we introduce works by Ei-Q, Man Ray, Moholy Nagi, Brassai and others. The second half contains texts by Toyama entitled "Chapter 1 20th Century Art as Art", "Chapter 2 Development of Art as Technology", and "Chapter 3 Direction of Art as Art". In particular, he pays homage to the actions of Man Ray and Moholy Nagi as leaders of innovation. By the way, this Matane company created a unique work in which the painter Hideo Sugita called himself "Ei-Q" and exposed drawings and things on stamped paper, and published a photo in 1936 with a limited number of 40 copies.・ It is the publisher of the drawing collection "Reason for Sleep", and this book also contains one plate of the reason for Ei-Q's sleep.
