A collection of works by Japanese female photographer Kayu Tanaka (Kayu Tanaka). Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1970, moved to England in his teens and obtained an MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. During this study abroad, he began to take photographs in earnest, and the subject that initially drove Tanaka was the pool. After returning to Japan, the "aquarium" attracted me. This book is a collection of black and white works taken at the aquarium of the 2nd Shinfusha Hirama Itaru Photography Award and Excellence Award. It reminds me of "The Animals" by Garyy Winogrand and "Creatures" by Atsushi Abe. From the preface by Masato Seto, "The swaying water, its tranquility and radiance, and the fear, the transparent glass toughly push them against the other side to separate them. To be sure, I'm looking for each "hometown." The photo shows everyone's hometown."
