A collection of works by Japanese photographer Shohei Matsumoto, "Kobe 84/86". Born in Okayama Prefecture in 1948, after graduating from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Saga University, he worked as a freelancer. In 1981, he presented a collection of works "Human Village" set in an abandoned mine in Sakitojima, Nagasaki Prefecture, and made a documentary. In spite of efforts, he presided over the photo doujinshi "Repo" in the 90's, and published interviews with Daido Moriyama and Hiromi Tsuchida, as well as his works. And in this book published in 1993, Matsumoto, who was based in Kobe at the time, recorded a snap landscape portrait shot here. As with the previous work, the works that are all monochrome and full of humanity are attractive. "Canal mouth / Mouth of Hyogo Canel" "Motomachi / Another Motomachi Shopping Street" "Wind over the sea / On the Kobe Bridge" "Summer / People under the Burnin' Sun" "Shinkaichi / Shinkaichi Fragment" "Night shadow / Night Vision".
