A collection of photographs by Naoya Hatakeyama, one of Japan's leading photographers. Born in 1958. Naoya Hatakeyama presents works that continue to question the relationship between "city", "nature" and "humans" both in Japan and overseas. While studying at University of Tsukuba, she studied under Kiyoshi Otsuji and presented her work in "15 Contemporary Photographic Expressions". In addition, in the ninth issue of "camera works tokyo," which was published by the project "Camera Works" by Ryuichi Kaneko and others, Hatakeyama's first solo work, "Contour Line" was also published. Since then, I have continued to consider the relationship between nature and cities and people, from color landscapes at mines and cement plants all over Japan, to groundwater canals in Tokyo, and even blast photographs at limestone. This book is a small catalog published in 2002 at the exhibition held at the Iwate Prefectural Museum of Art (hometown of Hatakeyama) and the National Museum of Art, Tokyo.
