A photo book by Japanese photographer Yasuhiro Ishimoto. Born in San Francisco in 1921, spent in Kochi from 1924 to 1939 and moved to the United States alone. After graduating from the Department of Architecture at Northwestern University in Chicago, he graduated from the Department of Photography in 1952 with the Institute of Design (commonly known as New Bauhaus, merged with Illinois Institute of Technology in 1949). After returning to Japan, he stayed in Chicago from 1958 to 1961, and in 1969 he published a photo book "Chicago, Chicago" which summarizes the photographs taken during his stay as a student and after graduation. It is highly regarded as a masterpiece in Japanese photography history. This book is a series of "Japanese photographers" series consisting of 40 volumes published by Iwanami Shoten in the 90's. 54 books such as the first book "One day there", "Chicago, Chicago" and "Katsura Imperial Villa".
