A collection of essays by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama, "To Another Country (Signed, with OBI)". After dropping out of Kogei High School, he worked as an assistant for a commercial designer in Osaka in the mid-1950s. Moriyama headed for photography and entered the studio of Takeji Iwamiya, a leading figure in the Kansai photography world in 1960, then moved to Tokyo to become an assistant to Eiko Hosoe. Active as a photographer from the latter half of the 1960s, he met Takuma Nakahira and participated in "Provoke". From the 70s onwards, he left behind masterpiece photo books such as "Hunter" and "Photo goodbye." This book, published in 2008, is an essay collection of texts that Moriyama has published in various media and in his own photo books in the past. Photos are included between essays, as well as text written for this book. The text, which was woven under the request of "other than photography" (postscript), recorded from the 80s to the 2000s in the old days, from miscellaneous notes such as diaries to novels such as novels that recalled the past, I am once again attracted to the genius of Moriyama.
