The Dreaming (First Edition) is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Yasuhiro Ogawa. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1968, Ogawa is a freelance photographer. He started photography after being impressed by the photographs of the great photographer Sebastião Salgado, which he happened to come across in the early 1990s. He held his first exhibition, Uncertain Map, at the Kodak Salon in Ginza in 1999, and won the 37th Taiyo Award the following year. In 2009, he won the Newcomer Award at the Photographic Society of Japan Awards for his photo collection, Slowly Down the River. His works are captivating for their sense of coloring, which is just the right amount of understatement, and the storytelling contained in each image. This book is a collection of works created by the photographer, who has just turned 50, as he looks back on his 27 years as a photographer, facing the photographs he has taken on his camera while traveling in the darkroom, and reminiscing about the time he has spent there, as if it were a dream.
