American photographer Mitch Epstein's photo book "Family Business". Epstein asked for Garry Winogrand's teachings when he was at Cooper Union University and also studied photography with John Szarkowski of MoMA. Since the 1980s, he has traveled around the world, focusing on social issues peculiar to the region and publishing numerous social documentary works. In recent years, "American Power", which was announced at the Aichi Triennale 2013 asking about the problem of energy resources in the United States, and "New York Arbor", which contains photographs of trees inhabiting New York, are famous. This documentary records the demise of Epstein's father's furniture and real estate stores in Epstein's hometown of Hollow York, Massachusetts. In addition to personal elements such as Epstein's own essays, family interviews, and videos, this is a meaningful work that includes social elements against the backdrop of the rise and fall of the American dream.
