A collection of works by Shuto Kawamata, who is currently a journalist, "Afternoon Street". In 1966, he enrolled in the Department of Human Relations, Faculty of Humanities, Wako University. After graduation, he conducted research from pollution and phytotoxicity issues to local issues, and after graduation, conducted a huge amount of research in support and verification work for the “thalidomide case”, and worked as a journalist with the main battlefield from “pollution and harm” to “medical care”. I am. In college, he deepened his friendship with Koji Taki, who was then an assistant professor, and a series of this was described in detail in a special contribution to Koji Taki and Architecture (2013). He also helped create and promote Provoke. Here is a photo book published by Kawamata in 1981, probably by self-publishing. We do not know the history of his activities as a photographer, the background of his publication, etc., but it contains snapshots taken during the daytime in Tokyo. A number of illustrations with a taste and sense that fully convey the atmosphere of Tokyo in the early 1980s, while somewhat feeling the appearance of Provoke.
