A collection of works by Kiyoshi Awazu, a designer who led postwar graphic design. Born in 1929. He studied painting and design on his own, and in 1955 won the Nisshinbi Award for the poster work "Return the Sea" at the Japan Advertising Art Exhibition, which was a gateway to competition for graphic designers at the time. In 1960, he joined the group "Metabolism" created by Kisho Kurokawa and other architects. Kiyoshi Awazu has created an image full of originality that sets it apart from the post-war modern design trends such as Kamekura Yusaku. He died in 2009, and his unique creativity is still inspiring, with many exhibitions held after his death. This book is a collection of works published by Tabata Shoten in 1970. A reprint was released in 2006, but this is the original. Includes early sketches and works from the 50's. Many graphic designs that can only be described as Kiyoshi Awazu, such as impactful posters, intelligent binding, illustrations with unique horse mackerel, magical works using seals and letters, are still fascinating without fading. . Includes plastic cover. (From The Japanese Photobook 1912–1990)
