A collection of works by Japanese photographer Masatsugu Takahashi, "People's Picture". Born in February 1947, after graduating from the graphic design department of Kuwasawa Design School in 1967, he started working as a photographer in the 1970s and established his own studio in the latter half of the 1980s. There is a statement in the colophon that he was active mainly in commercial photography and editorial. In the 1970s, he released a work with the same title as this title in "Special Feature on Story" and in 1976 in "Camera Mainichi". In 1974, he visited Musashi-machi on the Kunisaki Peninsula in Oita Prefecture for the first time and started shooting for the first time. It is depicted in black-and-white with warmth, local climate, and contrast that is typical of this era, reminiscent of Kazuo Kitai's "countryside photography," but it is not self-assertive and focuses on the local area. When I visited Musashi-cho again in 1975 with the desire to create a work, I took portraits of the inhabitants and landscapes, and even held a photo exhibition there. Then, in this work, he went to the area three times 15 years later and shot the "now" of the people who shot 15 years ago again. In this work, the trilogy of "1974", "1975" and "1990" is recorded. increase.
