A collection of photographs by Finnish photographer Esko Männikkö. During his amateur days, Männikkö focused on landscapes, lifestyles and portraits in his hometown of Northern Finland, and since the 1980s he has been featured in domestic exhibitions and has begun to attract attention. Then, in 1995, the first overseas solo exhibitions were held in Stockholm and New York, and the name became known all over the world at once. Strongly conscious of himself as a visual artist, his carefully calculated and unique composition and balanced color scheme are sometimes compared to the work of painting master Johannes Vermeer. This book is Männikkö's first exotic work, set in Texas, which is the borderline between the United States and Mexico. Texas boasts the second largest area in the United States, which is the opposite of the small community in northern Finland. Although the size is different, the land with many undeveloped elements in the frontier land and the figures of the people living there overlap with the figure of the local northern Finland, and Männikkö took pictures here with attachment.
