A collection of photographs by Finnish photographer Esko Männikkö. Männikkö is a photographer based in Oulu, northern Finland. Initially, he focused on the scenery, life, and portraits of his hometown of Northern Finland, and from the 1980s, he was featured in domestic exhibitions and began to attract attention. Then, in 1995, the first overseas solo exhibitions were held in Stockholm and New York, and the name of Männikkö became known all over the world at once. Strongly conscious of himself as a visual artist, his carefully calculated and unique composition and balanced color scheme are sometimes compared to the work of painting master Johannes Vermeer. At the request of Scotland's world-famous knit brand "Ballantine's", this book is composed of photographs of a local factory where Männikkö produces cashmere knits. The unique color contrast between the materials in the factory and the clothes of the workers is fascinating with the many detailed illustrations of Ballantine's details.
