This book is a collection of catalog works published by IMA editorial, held at the occasion of the “Arles International Photo Festival 2015” held in 2015. Eight photographers are nominated, including Hirose Hikari, Masahisa Fukose, Masatoshi Naito, Daido Moriyama, Hideko Hosoe, Kazumasa Suda, Sakiko Nomura and Daisuke Yokota. “New Japanese Photography,” which was held at MoMA in New York in 1974, is a historical exhibition that first introduced the world to the world with the most intense period of Japanese photography, mainly the 1960s and 70s. As curated, it was MoMA's photo director John Scherkauski and camera daily featured editor Shogo Yamagishi. Simon Baker, the curator of the exhibition, and the first photo director of Tate Modern of the United Kingdom, at the start of the Arles project, said at the beginning the "New Japanese Photography" exhibition with respect to Scherkaafski and Yamagishi. He also mentions the flow of photographs from the 70's to the present and the history of the photographer nominated for this exhibition.
