Nobuyoshi Araki's photo book "Taipei" is one of Japan's leading photographers, nicknamed Araki. The Taipei Biennale, an international art festival held by the Taipei Fine Arts Museum once every two years. The first was held in 1998, curated by Fumio Nanjo (currently the director of the Mori Arts Center), and artists from four Asian countries, Taiwan, China, South Korea, and Japan, participated. I participated. This book is a collection of snapshots of the city of Taipei that I visited for the exhibition. According to Nanjo, a few months before the Biennale started, he went to the site to shoot together and stayed for less than a week, but Araki completed and published this book before the exhibition started. Araki-like snapshots of the miscellaneous streets of Taipei, the people of Ichii, and the nudes of women are projected, but the color sense of the city, which is different from Japan, makes you feel exotic. The concept of "desire field area" was put up in the Biennale, but it seems that the miscellaneous and obscene space is expressed not only as a scene but as a place connected with life (sex).
