"Umimachi diary", a photo book by Japanese photographer Mikiya Takimoto. Born in 1974, studied under Tamotsu Fujii since 1994, and became independent in 1998. Takimoto is involved in a wide range of fields such as advertising photography, production of photographic works, commercial films, movies, etc., but he has been a hot topic in advertising photography such as Toshimaen Pool, TOYOTA, Suntory, and Laforet Harajuku. Since 2012, he has been responsible for filming director Kazue Hirokazu's film, and has won the Cannes International Film Festival Competition Division Jury Award for "And Be My Father" and the Japan Academy Award for Best Photography Award for "Kaimachi diary." On the other hand, we are also focusing on activities as an artist, and in 2017, we are holding an exhibition with the theme of architect Corbusier. This book consists of photographs recorded in the process of shooting the movie "Kaimachi diary" in which Takimoto participated. The beautiful scenery of Kamakura, the natural beauty of the sea and mountains, the seasonal plants, and the cozy sight of the four actresses who play the role of family are arranged in a well-balanced manner. As director Koreda wrote at the end of the book, the atmosphere of the family is carefully cut out, even though it is a fictional space called a movie.
