"London / Pittsburgh" is a photobook by British photographer Mark Neville. Born in 1966 and educated in London and Amsterdam, Neville works in the fields of art and documentary. In 2012, he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his photo essay "Here is London," commissioned by The New York Times. This book, published in conjunction with an exhibition held at London's Alan Cristea Gallery in 2014, is a collection of his work, consisting of two projects carried out in 2012: "Here is London" and "Braddock / Sewickley." The former is fieldwork in London, and the latter in Pittsburgh, and many of the photographs feature portraits and gatherings of local people. Everyday scenes and activities—children, nightclubs, and youth gatherings—suggest the cultural and economic characteristics of each region, documenting the state of contemporary society as if comparing two cities in different countries.
