A photo book of the Japanese photographer Ichihara Narahara "Human Land". In 1956, he made a shocking debut with his personal exhibition, "The Land of Humanity," which presented the fundamental situation of "Nature and human beings" and "Social organization versus humanity" as "personal documents". Ichihara Narahara has continued to present large-scale works of great integration of intellect and sensibility. In the 60's and 70's, he formed "VIVO" with Tomatsu Lighting, Kikuji Kawada, Hideko Hosoe and others, and created numerous masterpieces. This book is a single book published for the first time in 30 years, "Human Land" published only at the exhibition (some points have been published in other photo books). Narahara, who studied at Waseda University's graduate school, travels to Kyushu during spring break and stops at Kurokami village buried in the lava of Sakurajima, and at Hashima, an artificial anthracite island floating in the East China Sea. The impact of the life of the two islands and the life of the human beings living on the limit situation gave Narahara a great deal, and the two stages became one concept and became work. It is a masterpiece that remains in Japanese photographic history, and is projected with camera work that exaggerates the scene of a remote area and the people living there. Signed copy.
