"The First Picture Book", a photo book by Edward Steichen, a leading photographer of the 20th century. Born in Luxembourg in 1879 and immigrated to the United States in 1881. He met the photographer Alfred Stieglitz in New York in 1900 and founded the "Little Gallery of Photo Section" with Stieglitz in 1905. It creates a straight-line photography movement from the pictorial pictorialism that was the mainstream of photography until then. After that, he worked on many fashion photographs such as "Vogue", and in 1947 he became the director of MoMA's photography department and held the exhibition "The Family of Man" (1955). This book is a reprint of the photo book published in 1930, but it is one of the representative books for children using photographs. As "Everyday Things for Babies", it contains the still life of children's items such as building blocks, tricycles, drawing sets, cribs, and baby carriages. The preface is written by Steichen's daughter, and the postscript of the reprint is written by American poet and writer John Updike. 1991 edition.
