A photo book by Japanese photographer Shinzo Hanabusa, "Testimony from Rural Areas". After graduating from Tokyo College of Photography, he continued to pursue the image of Japanese society through rural issues in the 1960s, and in 1965 he held a solo exhibition "The Blind-The Closed Society" and "Rural Electronics Industry" in "Asahi Camera". Received the New Artist Award from the Photographic Society of Japan and the New Artist Award from the Photographic Society of Japan. In the 90's, we visited the old towns along the canals that retain the remnants of the Ming and Qing dynasties in Shanghai and Gangnam, China, and recorded the appearance of the city and the lives of people who are changing their appearance through reform and openness policies. This book is a collection of photographs that won the Japan Congress of Journalists Encouragement Award, and is a collection of rural issues documented by the United Kingdom. He began his interviews in 1964 and traveled to rural areas nationwide, reflecting the changing agricultural situation, people's lives and the distortions that occurred in the era when agriculture was modernized along with high economic growth. Not only the devastation of rural areas, but also the environment surrounding rural areas (pollution, agricultural cooperatives, elections, etc.) is carefully interviewed and the actual situation is recorded. (Recorded in The Japanese Photobook 1912–1990)
