A collection of works by Japanese female photographer Kumi Matsumura, "Shutter of One Thought-My 10-Year Record of Okinawa-". Kumi Matsumura has been taking pictures locally before and after returning to the mainland of Okinawa in 1972, and even after 2000. Matsumura's first marriage partner is Ko Yoshioka, a journalist and photographer. He was the person who tried against the police for depriving him of "freedom of press and expression" by forcibly searching the house for evidence. It was Matsumura who lived together with Yoshioka in Okinawa at that time, and it seems that Yoshioka's attack had a great influence on Matsumura's trip to Okinawa and his decision to pursue photography in earnest. This book contains a record of having faced Okinawa for many years as a photographer from the encounter and parting with Yoshioka. A series of protests, military labor, black towns, and even local folk events and rituals from the late 1960s to around the 1980s are spelled out like essays. The photo composition is Seiichi Motohashi, one of Japan's leading photographers who fully supported the publication of this book, and JPU members such as Bunyo Ishikawa, Hitoshi Baba, and Kosei Shimada are listed as collaborators.
