The Pond, a photo book by American photographer John Gossage. Gosage continues to play an active role worldwide, learning from female photographer Lisette Model and graphic designer Alexey Brodovitch in the 1960s. In Japan, he is also known as a collaborative work with photographer Kazuo Kitai and as the husband of female photographer Terry Weifenbach. This book is a representative photo book of New Topography published in 1985, and is a reprint of a long-out-of-print masterpiece that was updated in 2010 as a 25th anniversary edition. Pictures taken around a pond on the outskirts of the city set it apart from the emotional and natural beauty of a classic landscape, and the desolate, cold nature and stagnant pond landscape are eroded by humans. It realistically reflects the retreating nature and the boundary between humans and nature. Added 3 new photos and 2 essays not found in the original version. This is a historic book that has renewed the landscape.
