The Train NYC 1984 is a photobook by Canadian-born photographer Brian Young. Brian first visited New York in 1984 to study photography at ICP, and was surprised to find America in the midst of an economic recession that had been continuing since the mid-1970s with no end in sight. Crime and drugs were rampant, and the subway was one of the most feared spaces for tourists. This is a collection of works set in the New York subway, taken under such circumstances.
