"AMERICA 1955" is a photo book by Tadahiko Hayashi (1918-1990), one of Japan's leading photographers who was active before the war. Graduated from the Oriental Photography School at the age of 21, and started working as a professional photographer the following year. From 1948, he shot a portrait of Bungo from the Showa era, including Osamu Dazai, in the "Bunshi series" of "Novel Shincho", and it drew a great deal of attention.
