Daido Moriyama born in 1938 and Nobuyoshi Araki born in 1940. “Moriyama Shinjuku Araki” is a photo book where two people who have made their name in Japanese photography history meet through the familiar city of Shinjuku. This book was published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name held at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in 2005. Shinjuku is a major landmark in Moriyama's career, including the 600-page masterpiece “Shinjuku”. Shinjuku is also one of the most frequently photographed cities for Araki, who was born in Minowa, Taito and has been capturing Tokyo since the 1960s. Centered on photos taken on August 16, 2004 by two people walking around Shinjuku, each piece is a mix of past works, and the photos of the two people are randomly knitted. Also, Sakiko Nomura, also known as Araki's assistant, took a picture of the day when they were together. The texts of Hiromi Kitazawa, who planned the exhibition, and the dialogue between Moriyama and Araki are also readable. Second print.
