"El Porque de las Naranjas" is a photo collection by Spanish photographer Ricardo Cases. Born in Orihuela, Valencia, southern Spain, in 1971, Cases majored in journalism at university and worked for newspapers and business magazines in Berlin and Madrid. He subsequently joined the photo collective "Blank Paper," founded by seven other photographers, to explore new possibilities. While stimulating his own creativity, he also mentored the collective's students. This book, originally published by MACK in 2014, features images taken in his hometown of Levante, Valencia. The title translates to "The Cause of Oranges." This conceptual collection explores the ever-changing landscapes and everyday life, as well as the unchanging elements, centered around the orange, Spain's symbol.
