"Tsugaru" is a photo book by Japanese female photographer Masako Tomiya. Born in Aomori Prefecture in 1981, Masako Tomiya studied at the Department of Photography at Osaka University of Arts under Kazumasa Suda, one of Japan's leading photographers, who was also teaching at the same university. After that, he studied at the Tokyo College of Photography Graduate School, and since 2010 he has held solo exhibitions at the now-closed Zeit Photo Salon. Most recently, he has been published by Chose Commune, a French publishing company that publishes works by Masaharu Ueda and others. The 2nd photo book has been released. This book is the first photo book released in 2013, and is composed of works taken over 10 years in the photographer's hometown of Aomori and Tsugaru. The sophisticated beauty of Ichiro Kojima, who is famous as a Tsugaru photographer, and the way he captures strange and unique moments like Kazumasa Suda can be felt everywhere, and his stance is to lyrically write about the climate and culture of the area. Although they are common, this is a wonderful book that makes you feel the photographer's originality in the soft and delicate perspective unique to women and the intimate heart that looks at her hometown with loving eyes.
