Japanese photographer Ryuichi Ishikawa's photo book "okinawan portraits 2010-2012". Ryuichi Ishikawa, a photographer living in Okinawa, is currently receiving the most attention. In middle and high school, he spent all his time in boxing, and after going to college, he became absorbed in photography with a broken camera that he accidentally picked up at a recycling shop, and began to study photography on his own. After that, while working under his teacher, he published a photo book at his own expense and participated in a digital workshop of Shomei Tomatsu to improve his ability. He won the 40th Kimura Ihei Photo Award for his snap "A Grand Polyphony". This work is the "okinawan portraits" series, which won the 35th Canon Photo New Century Honorable Mention in 2012. The portraits taken in various parts of Okinawa over the course of about three years are a microcosm of Okinawa's originality, from unique young people wearing unique fashion to runaway tribes, American soldiers, and elderly couples. The photographer's individuality shines from the selection of the target to the background and how to use the coloring, which is exactly "Okinawan Portrait". And we will continue to the second "2012-2016".
