This book is the second issue of the series special feature "Non" published in 1969. Although the Japan-US joint statement in 1969 decided to "return Okinawa in 1972," the essence of this was that the rule of Okinawa would only change from the United States to Japan, and liberation from the military rule that the people of Okinawa wanted. It never fulfilled the desire for peace and true freedom, and it marked the beginning of a new Okinawa problem. Around the 1970s after the announcement of the joint statement, many photographers visited Okinawa and published photographs that appealed to the actual situation in Okinawa in newspapers and various photo magazines. This book, with photographs and texts by Takao Iida, transforms land into a base and destroys agriculture from Okinawa from the first half of the unique composition of "airplanes" that dominate the sky and continue to make a roaring sound, and "people who live there". It is edited in a large three-part composition, the middle part that tells the fact that rice was lost and the production of non-staple food crops of sugar cane and pineapple, and the latter part that describes the struggle and the desire for peace by the people, and deep gravure printing. A book that draws you into a wonderful layout.
