"Forms (Signed)" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Naoko Sakurai. After graduating from the Parsons School of Design's photography department in New York in 1992, she has been based in Japan and exhibiting her work both domestically and internationally. In the 1990s, she participated in an exhibition in Arles, France, and has created series such as "Aged," which examines the body, life, and the passage of time. This book is a collection of nude photographs that explore the diverse forms of the human body and the existence of life residing within them. Treating the skin as a boundary separating the external and internal worlds, she delicately captures the curves of the body and the texture of the skin, while imagining the blood and skeleton flowing beneath, and even the invisible existence of the mind. The bodies that emerge from the images sometimes show abstract forms like sculptures, and at other times evoke the soft warmth of life. A collection of serene images that go beyond sensuality and physical beauty, approaching the mystery of the body itself. This book is a condensed representation of Sakurai's perspective, who has been exploring the relationship between photography and the body for many years.
