"The Last Testament" is a photobook by Norwegian photographer Jonas Bendiksen. At the age of 19, he worked as an intern at Magnum Photos, where seeing their extensive archives inspired him to pursue a career as a true photographer. After his internship, he moved to the Soviet Union. A series of photographs taken there were included in his first book, "Satellites" (2006), and he became a full member of Magnum two years later. Since then, he has covered slums around the world, publishing "The Places We Live" (2008), which depicts the harsh conditions they face. In recent years, he has also participated in Magnum's "Home" project, exhibiting his work. This book is Bendiksen's latest work, with "Jesus Christ" and "religion" as its motifs. This massive 468-page book is a collaborative effort, following seven men who believe in the Second Coming of Christ. It includes not only photographs but also the author's own texts and even email correspondence with the men he interviewed, creating a work titled "The Last Testament," a play on the Old Testament and the New Testament.
