"Daido Slide (Right, Signed)" is a collection of works by Daido Moriyama, one of Japan's leading photographers. While Moriyama's name is now known worldwide, he only began to attract attention overseas in the 21st century; before that, he was known only to avid photography fans. The catalyst for his international expansion was undoubtedly the "Stray Dog" exhibition at MoMA in San Francisco in 1999, curated by Sandra Phillips (Sandra later became the museum's Honorary Curator of Photography). Since then, his global presence has expanded to Paris in the 2000s, and to London in the 2010s in collaboration with William Klein. This book is a newly edited collection of works from that solo exhibition at SF MoMA, where 140 carefully selected films were projected as slides, and was compiled after the original films were rediscovered a quarter of a century later. Published by M (Moriyama) × M (Machiguchi), the book design was handled by the renowned duo, Satoshi Machiguchi. Two cover designs are available.
