"Telex Iran In The Name of Revolution" is a photobook by Gilles Perrès, a Magnum Photos photographer from France. Perrès studied photography while covering social issues during his time at university in Paris. From the 1970s onward, he traveled extensively throughout Africa, Europe, and Asia, working energetically as a photographer. He became a member of Magnum Photos in 1972 and served as its president in the late 1980s. He also taught at Harvard University, engaging in educational work as well. He is a highly accomplished photographer who has followed an elite path as a photojournalist. This book is one of Gilles Perrès' representative works and a masterpiece photobook that was nominated for Andrew Roth's "The Book of 101 Books." The photographs were taken between December 1979 and January of the following year, and it is a reportage depicting the domestic situation in Iran during the turbulent period following the Iranian Revolution, including the US Embassy hostage crisis. The book's appeal is further enhanced by the book design by Claude Nori, founder of the French publishing house Contrejour and a renowned photographer. 1997 Reprint hardcover edition.
