"Kishin Shinoyama: The Power of Photography / The People by Kishin (Fourth Printing, Signed)" is a collection of works by Kishin Shinoyama, one of Japan's leading post-war photographers. This book is a catalog photobook published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name held at four museums in Japan (Tokyo, Niigata, Hiroshima, and Kumamoto) from 2012 to 2013. It is composed of portraits of famous people that reflect the times, selected under the theme of "People," spanning nearly 50 years from the 1960s to around 2010. There was a time when it was said that Nobuyoshi Araki was the man of eroticism, Daido Moriyama the man of art, and Kishin Shinoyama the man of commercial photography. He is famous for his nude works of actresses such as Rie Miyazawa, Kanako Higuchi, and Saki Takaoka, but the artistic merit of his work, honed through his mastery of commercial photography, is also highly regarded. Katsumi Abutani, who designed many of Nobuyoshi Araki's photobooks, states in his book "Power Designing" (1984) that Kishin Shinoyama's "A Fine Day" is the textbook for photobooks. Published in 2016, 4th printing.
