"Sasanami" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Masao Yamamoto (1957-). Yamamoto is known for his unique technique of hand-dyeing and processing small prints to create fragments of old memories, and has gained international acclaim for his photographs that quietly capture the essence of nature, time, and life. This work was produced as part of the "Dialogue between Photographer and Musician" series developed by the French publisher IIKKI, and was created in collaboration with composer Akira Uchida. Fragments of nature such as flowers, the night sea, mountains shrouded in mist, sleeping birds, trees, and stars are arranged in understated and poetic sequences, and the essence of the world spreads like quiet ripples. As the title "Sasanami" (ripples) suggests, the composition is impressive in that individual small images are linked together, creating a gentle fluctuation in the viewer's memory and senses. This book embodies IIKKI's concept of photography and music resonating with each other, and this is the first edition (limited to 1200 copies) published in 2020, available only in book form. Numbered. Signed by the photographer .
