"Street Lords" is a collection of American photographer Peter Sutherland's works. Born in Michigan in 1976, Peter first began taking photographs with a camera after the death of his father, and after graduating from college, he self-produced six zines, which attracted the attention of art dealers and publishers, and he began his career as a photographer. Since then, he has been active in a variety of fields, including documentary production, filmmaking, and even launching a T-shirt brand. He gained attention for his documentary on Richard Prince, but he is also a deeply humane artist who focuses on the street culture scene, including his surfing hobby, and creates humane documentaries. This collection of street portraits, spanning the late 1990s and nearly 20s, conveys his gratitude and love for the streets (and their people) that have long been his primary focus, from New York to Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo.
