"Painukaji" is a photo collection by leading Okinawan photographer Taira Koshichi. With the goal of "using his camera as a weapon to raise awareness of Okinawa's issues," Taira Koshichi has been documenting conflicts and struggles surrounding U.S. military bases since the 1960s as a journalist.
