"Osaka (First Printing, Signed)" is a photo collection by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama. One of the most representative photographers of the 20th century, Daido Moriyama has been active since the late 1960s. After working in Takeji Iwamiya's studio, he became an assistant to Eikoh Hosoe, witnessing the production of works such as "Ordeal by Roses." Around the same time, he met Shomei Tomatsu, and while admiring him, he also sought his own style. In the mid-1960s, his electric encounter with Takuma Nakahira led to the launch of "Provoke," which led to his masterpieces in the 1970s and beyond, such as "The Hunter" and "Goodbye Photography." The god of snapshot photography, Daido Moriyama, continued to lead the way in the 1980s and beyond, with works such as "Light and Shadow," "Journey to Nakaji," "Color," and the 1990s, represented by "Hysteric." This book is a collection of photographs of "Osaka" taken between 1995 and 2006. It's been 55 years since he moved to Tokyo from Osaka, and although he has lived in Tokyo for a long time, he says it's undeniable that much of his sensibility has been influenced by Osaka, to the extent that people who see his photographs sometimes describe them as "Kansai-like/Osaka-like." The essays from "Memories of a Dog" have been reorganized and included in this book, allowing you to learn about the roots of photographer Daido Moriyama. First printing. Signed by the photographer .
