The Living Theatre (Fourth Edition) is a photo collection by Shanghai-born, Hong Kong-based photographer and filmmaker Fan Ho. Born in Shanghai in 1931, he moved to Hong Kong in 1949 after the war. He documented Hong Kong's turbulent decades, from its emergence as a British colony to its rapid economic development and its return to China in 1997. Since the 1960s, he has worked as an actor, assistant, and then director. Since then, he has produced nearly 30 works. His illustrations, captured with exceptional lighting and composition, are full of beauty reminiscent of a scene from a film, rich in humanity and romance. Fan Ho has received approximately 300 awards, and his works are permanently housed in numerous museums around the world, including MoMA. Like his popular work "Hong Kong Yesterday," this book also contains illustrations taken in the 1950s and 1960s, and is a captivating book filled with beautiful illustrations rich in sculptural beauty that are reminiscent of Yasuhiro Ishimoto.
