"The Living Theatre (Second Edition)" is a photobook by Fan Ho, a photographer and filmmaker born in Shanghai who was active in Hong Kong. Born in Shanghai in 1931, Fan Ho moved to Hong Kong in 1949 after the war. He continued to photograph the turbulent decades of Hong Kong, from being a British territory to experiencing rapid economic development and finally being returned to China in 1997. After working as an actor from the 1960s onward, he became a full-fledged film director after working as an assistant, and has since produced nearly 30 works. The images, captured with exceptional lighting and composition, are full of beauty reminiscent of movie scenes, and are rich in humanity and romance. To date, Fan Ho has received approximately 300 awards, and his works are permanently held in numerous museums around the world, including MoMA. Like the popular work "Hong Kong Yesterday," this book also contains illustrations taken in the 1950s and 60s, and is a captivating read with its many beautiful illustrations rich in sculptural beauty reminiscent of Yasuhiro Ishimoto's work. 2nd edition.
