"Third Printing, With OBI" is a photobook by leading Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. This book is a compilation of serials from the culture magazine "Weekend Super," produced by Akira Suei, who is also the editor and book designer of this book. From the late 1970s to the 1980s, Araki teamed up with Suei to publish magazine serials and photobooks, and later reminisced in his book "Genius and Death" (2013), "It's like Suei created my 1980s." This book documents Araki's experiences with photographs and text, based on themes likely designed to reflect his interests. Beginning with "Ah! The Emperor's Birthday," in which he visits the Imperial Palace for a public visit on April 29th, Emperor Showa's birthday, the book continues with "Sad Woman Yashiro Aki," an interview with Yashiro Aki; "Seawater Lust," in which he visits a summer beach; "Tokyo Castle Tour," in which he visits a luxurious love hotel; and "Japan's Shameful Room," a play on "My Shameful Room" (Araki's workroom), a work exhibited at the "Japan: A Self-Portrait" exhibition held in New York in 1979, when the series was still being serialized. This third printing includes a dust jacket.
