A photo collection by Japanese photographer Osamu Murai, "Landscapes of Memory (Signed)". Murai Osamu is one of the leading photographers of postwar Japanese architecture, and is also famous for his photographic creations of sculptors and artworks. He serialized cover photos for the doujinshi magazine "Z" by Jakucho Setouchi and others, and worked on architectural photographs of Kenzo Tange, Kunio Maekawa, and Seiichi Shirai, as well as sculpture photographs of world-renowned artist Masayuki Nagare, which began as a chance encounter. He also worked on photography for overseas magazines such as LIFE and FORTUNE, and Murai Osamu's name is engraved on many collections of architecture and sculpture-related works from the 1960s onwards after the war. This book is a photo collection published by this architectural and sculpture photographer at his own expense in 1989. The photographer's daughter happened to come across over 100 rolls of film three years after she had been working as an assistant to her father. Among them were snapshots taken during his younger days as an apprentice. The snapshots taken by the photographer in his 20s, who worked with a cool-headed gaze, capture the original cityscapes that were lost during the period of high economic growth, as well as records of people with outstanding sense of form, pathos, and humor. Signed by the photographer .
